The Political Science Gaming Lab is a small but ambitious project that seeks to incorporate commercially available simulation and computer games into the teaching and research of Political Science and International Relations.

We use games to bridge the gap between theory and practical application, providing students with a hands-on environment to explore complex decision-making.

An Interactive Approach to Learning

In the lab, students and researchers use a curated library of simulation and computer games to engage with their subjects in a new way. This method encourages a deeper understanding of complex systems by allowing participants to:

  • Explore Systems: Analyze the interconnectedness of economic, social, and political factors in managing a state or society.
  • Analyze Decisions: Experience the challenges of leadership by making choices with significant consequences in simulated environments.
  • Practice Foresight: Use game-based scenarios to model potential future events and study the long-term impact of different policies.

The Political Science Gaming Lab provides a unique space for developing critical thinking and strategic analysis skills. We invite you to learn more about our work, our courses, and our approach to the study of social sciences.
